Re:Fuel Rebrands as UBar

“Nothing has changed apart from the name”

Re:Fuel has been rebranded UBar under new management; the name Re:Fuel was apparently the copyright of the last manager.

Adrian Lowrey, UBar’s new manager, emphasises that UBar will provide the same service as Re:Fuel. “Essentially nothing has changed apart from the name. UBar will continue to provide students with a place to meet and enjoy live music.”

Some local bands have told Critic that Re:Fuel’s past management had a bad reputation among musicians for being difficult to work with. Lowrey says that he can’t “comment on something that I’ve never heard before,” and is committed to “continuing to be a great platform for new and established bands”.

Critic was disappointed that Re:Fuel’s past name “The Loaded Goblin” wasn’t selected, although Lowrey said that it was considered. “It is a clear favourite among some people, and it still might make a comeback as the University Union works through its overall strategic planning for its services over the next ten years.”

Critic would like to say that UBar is a weird name.
