The Tropics in the Artic

If you’re a little bored and in need of something to do to fill the hours at the start of the semester then head on down to the Otago Museum. If staring at ancient artifacts aren’t really your cup of tea then why not check out some of the awesome interactive exhibitions such as the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium or the Discovery World Tropical Forest.

The Sky Tonight

The Sky Tonight is a live presentation inside the planetarium that will give you insight into the sky above Otago at night. If you’ve ever looked up at the stars and wondered what the hell you were looking at then this is for you.

Discovery World Tropical Forest

The Discovery World Tropical Forest is a hands on look at the world around you. Discovery World Tropical Forest is also home to the Tropical Forest which is home to exotic butterflies, colourful orchids, chirping finches, giant banana palms and other rainforest dwellers. The enclosure stays at about 28 degrees and 75 percent humidity year round which means that if you’re sick of you’re cold and crappy flat, why not go sit in the enclosure for a couple of hours?
