Exec Reports - 18
Imogen Roth
General Rep
Imogen sits on a whopping eight University and OUSA committees, including her position on the University’s senate. Her main area of interest post-VSM campaigning has been the strategic direction of the University and of tertiary education. Imogen appears to be making good progress on her creative goals, which include organizing a 21st birthday for user-pays education to campaign about tertiary issues. Imogen’s vast achievements include: almost making Roger Douglas cry (she alleges), baking (and buying) a slice for the student support centre bake sale, and cleaning the microwave in the Link. All in all, Imogen shows a willingness to be part of everything and a commitment to bettering student life.

John Phillipson
General Rep
At the time Critic went to print, John’s report still hadn’t been accepted by the Exec. Not only was it very, very late, it also (perhaps more importantly) lacked content about what he had actually done. But this isn’t the first time John’s reports have been late during the last four quarters. Although his report was passionately written, John had focused substantially on his involvement with the Fair Trade My University Campaign and his work in the governance working party, seemingly to the detriment of any general OUSA involvement or participation in university committees. He has held two successful fair trade events, and been a main contributor to the “magnum opus,” the report of the governance working party, but perhaps John could get out and about a bit.

James Meager
Finance and Services Officer
James is proving to be a loyal right-hand man to the President, from standing in for the Queen Bee when she was away, to dealing brilliantly with the “business side” of the organisation. James has had to deal with the downright boring (photocopying budgets) and the marginally more stimulating (director of Planet Media and University Union Limited). James is involved with eight OUSA and University committees, an impressive list, as well as progressing on his goals, including the large task of reducing the Budget deficit.

Malia Asopesio Vete
Pacific Island Representative
Like a number of the Executive members, Malia has not yet used her budget, although she plans to use her allocated moolah on the Pacific Island ball, the Pacific and Maori students sports day, and in promoting OUPISA. She has been involved with Pacific Island community members, and has even attended Pacific community events, such as Zumba. Malia attends a number of University and OUSA meetings. Aside from some rather poor formatting, and a limited list of general OUSA activities, Malia appears to be doing a great job as Pacific Island Rep.
