The $1 Mixture Review.
Campus Wonderful

Good selection, including sour strap (normally valued at 20c), and a variety of larger lollies. The inclusion of a Mackintosh and fizzer tube was deemed controversial by our judges. The chocolate fish, however, was well received. This selection had the smallest overall amount of loot but the best selection by far, proving quality over quantity is the best policy. 4.5/5.
Castle Street

Shit selection, mostly wine gums and pink bananas. An Eftpos fee of 20 cents on transactions under $5 made this a $1.20 mix. The milk bottles from here were worse than the Rob Roy ones, being far too chewy, and not flavoursome enough. 0.5/5.
Willowbank

Good selection of sours. This bag contained a good variety of large and smaller lollies. It was also the only mix with a jellybean and a mint lolly. 2/5.
Cumberland

Poor selection – too many quadrupled lollies, including four ‘sloppy’ pyramids. 3/5.
Rob Roy

The only bag with coke bottles, and a large range of sour lollies. Two sets of dentures was another highlight. Their copying of Noah’s strategy of providing two of every lolly was well received by the judges. 4.5/5.
Much of the $1 Mixture Review did come down to personal preference, thus making it hard to identify a clear winner. However, Rob Roy and Campus Wonderful emerged to take out an equal first, and Critic advises you to steer clear of the Castle Street dairy. Cumberland around the corner proves slightly better, and the delightful owners always provide a good yarn.
