A University of Otago study has found that those who suffer from mental illness between the ages of 18 and 25 are less likely to have a full-time job by the time they turn 30.
Led by Dr. Sheree Gib, the study involved 950 participants and compared factors such as income level, mental health history, and educational qualifications. It was also found that at least half of the study participants had experienced some form of mental illness during early adulthood. The study was published in the British Journal of Psychiatry.
