BREAKING: Results of election for 2010 OUSA Executive announced

August 27, 2009 18:32

Harriet Geoghegan will lead OUSA next year, it was announced at a function earlier this evening.
Returning Officer Simon Wilson announced the results in the Gazebo Lounge in the Union Building where candidates and their friends gathered to hear their fate.
Unsurprisingly, Geoghegan was named as President – she was unopposed.
Voter turnout was up on previous years with 18.2 percent of the student population voting.
The big shock is that there has been a tie for the position of Health Science Representative. Both David McKelvey and Presant Sing received 338 votes. There is no policy on what to do in this situation and a solution will be hashed out next week.
Critic will have comprehensive coverage and analysis of the election results in the next issue, out after the mid-semester break.
